Modern Linguistics and the Contrastive Approach in Modern Linguistics and the Contrastive Approach
Keywords:
opposition, antonymy, cognitive linguistics, metaphorAbstract
This is a brief study on the rhetoric of contrast, which seeks to demonstrate another way of constructing, reading, and interpreting discourse, as well as another perspective on worldview and understanding. This new perspective not only originates in the mental structure of the interpreting reader, but also integrates phenomena and introduces signs indicating the importance of opposing situations after a long period of logical one-dimensionality. The new perspective requires that sciences and knowledge be reorganized and reconstructed through linguistic approaches.
