Linguist is an international peer-reviewed scientific magazine published quarterly by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. It publishes serious linguistic studies and research in Arabic, French, English, Spanish, and German. The magazine seeks to be a scientific platform for researchers and academics interested in theoretical and applied linguistics, and contributes to promoting scientific dialogue on language issues and modern topics.
The magazine’s mission stems from its commitment to developing linguistic research in Arab culture and keeping pace with scientific and intellectual developments in linguistics. It also aims to build bridges between researchers from different disciplines by focusing on interdisciplinary research that intersects linguistics with other humanities and social sciences. The magazine also seeks to provide quality content that contributes to enriching the scientific landscape and provides readers and specialists with the latest developments in the field of linguistic studies worldwide.
The magazine covers theoretical linguistics and its branches (phonetics, grammar, semantics, and pragmatics), as well as applied linguistics, which includes language teaching, computational linguistics, text analysis, comparative studies, terminology, and translation, in addition to research that uses linguistic analysis tools to understand discursive phenomena.
Linguist magazine adheres to rigorous academic publishing standards, accepting original research that has not been previously published or presented elsewhere. All submitted material undergoes double-blind peer review by specialists, in accordance with APA citation style (7th edition). Submissions must include abstracts in both Arabic and English, a brief biography of the researcher, and an electronic copy of the research edited according to the journal’s approved template.
While the journal emphasizes the quality of the published works, it notes that the opinions expressed in the research papers are those of the authors and do not necessarily represent the views of the journal. It also does not offer any financial compensation or charge for publication.
